Industrial Internship
3–6 months · year-round · interdisciplinary project work
What is it?
The Internship x CISPA Program offers offers Bachelor’s and Master’s students who need to complete a 3–6 month paid mandatory internship the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals. This is not limited to students of computer science or cybersecurity, but also open to students from other study backgrounds such as design, psychology, marketing, communication, business, and related disciplines.
Applications are accepted year round!

Corporate Communications

Poster & graphic design ?
Project description:
Create and adapt posters, flyers, presentation slides, website graphics, and event materials for internal and external communication. Tasks may include preparing layouts, resizing visuals, applying CISPA brand guidelines, and coordinating feedback with colleagues.
Requirements:
Good visual sense, attention to detail, and first experience with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Figma, or PowerPoint. A small portfolio or examples of previous design work are helpful. -
Brand management & strategy ?
Project description:
Support the consistent use of CISPA’s visual identity across web pages, presentations, posters, templates, and internal documents. Tasks may include reviewing materials, improving wording and structure, preparing communication assets, and adapting content for different target groups.
Requirements:
Interest in branding, marketing, communication, or design. Strong written English, a structured working style, and the ability to follow brand guidelines are important. German language skills are helpful but not required.
Scientific Talent Acquisition & Management (STAM)

Using Odoo for recruitment ?
Project description:
Support application management processes in Odoo by helping maintain job postings, applicant workflows, recruitment pages, email templates, and candidate data. Tasks may include testing forms, documenting process steps, checking applicant information, and suggesting workflow improvements.
Requirements:
Interest in application management, recruitment administration, digital workflows, or process management. Accuracy when working with data, careful handling of confidential information, good organizational skills, and willingness to learn Odoo are required. Previous Odoo experience is helpful but not required. -
Designing and implementing websites ?
Project description:
Support the design, structure, and maintenance of web pages in Odoo and other internal websites. Tasks may include creating landing pages, job pages, FAQ sections, and information pages; preparing mockups or layout ideas; improving page structure; testing responsiveness; and supporting small front-end improvements.
Requirements:
Basic web development skills are required, especially HTML and CSS. You should also be comfortable using design and mockup tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar tools. JavaScript, responsive design, and CMS experience are helpful. You should work carefully, test your changes, and be comfortable editing content. -
Operational support for onboarding, integration, and internal communications ?
Project description:
Support the O&I team with onboarding and integration activities and help new colleagues feel at home at CISPA. Tasks may include preparing and coordinating onboarding sessions, creating and distributing onboarding information, translating and updating wiki content, drafting event newsletters and employee updates, coordinating hardware requests, and supporting the planning and organization of internal events.
Requirements:
This position is ideal for students who enjoy organizing, communicating, and working with people in an international environment. Reliability, attention to detail, a friendly communication style, and an interest in onboarding, integration, and internal events are important.
How does the application process work?
- CV (optionally with link to portfolio)
- Motivation Letter: the motivation letter should be about one page long and show your interest and motivation for a specific topic(s)
- Recent Academic Transcripts (e.g. a degree certificate; in German or English)
- Certificate of Enrollment in a German university
- Proof of Mandatory Internship from your academic institution
Our team will then screen your application and find the best suitable project category for your profile.
After that Prospective applicants will be invited to an interview to get to know them better and discuss responsibilities within the company.

- Students enrolled at a German institution in their Bachelor’s or Master’s from various fields of study (IT, Design, Marketing, Psychology, etc.)
- Students with mandatory internship requirement (e.g. Media Informatics @ Saarland University, Praktische informatik @ HTW Saar
- You should display an independent and effective working style, in an international and intercultural environment.
- Strong communications skills in English and/or German
What we offer
Please note:
Student interns are responsible for their own international health insurance, accident insurance and travel expenses and housing.
Research Internship

What is it?
The CISPA Summer Research programme offers Bachelor’s and Master’s students a paid research internship to work alongside leading researchers in areas such as cryptography, computer security, privacy, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Who can participate?
- The programme is open to students enrolled in eligible Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or equivalent fields.
- Students must have completed at least four semesters before the internship begins.
- Students must remain enrolled throughout the internship period.
- English proficiency is required.
